A crazy day with mom!

Jared decided that our yard was over due for some much needed attention, so he spent ALL day working on it! So 8 hours, 20 trash bags of leaves, numerous blisters, and two splinters later.... our yard looked amazing!
However, during this time Connor only wanted to be outside with Jared, so to keep him busy we had "crazy day!" We painted (paper and our faces) It was funny, he loved painting my face but he didn't like it so much on his face... go figure! We played with play-dough, cooked with fake food (in real pots and pans), dressed up silly, played Thomas the train, played "tunnels" (hiding under blankets on a table), and of course played in the leaves that Jared had raked into a nice big pile! :) It was a lot of fun and it kept Connor occupied!
Connor was so cute after we painted our faces he told me "mommy take off" as he poked at my face.
I forgot how much fun pretend play and dressing up could be! I just love that little boy! :)
I thought that the pictures that we took were too cute not to share!

Thank you Pop and Gigi!

Pop and Gigi,
I really missed you at Christmas and wish so badly that I could have seen you! I really miss you and can't wait to see you soon! Thank you for the fun Christmas presents! I LOVE my sleeping bag and my monkey helmet VERY MUCH! Mom laughs at me when I want to wear my helmet around the house for fun, but I think it's cool! I made mommy plug my monkey light up right away, I use it every night! I also have a ton of fun with my ball (dad thinks it's his, he plays with it more than me... pop needs to tell him that the ball is mine!) I love you both very much and can't wait to see you soon! Mommy is going to post some pictures of me opening my gifts!

Love you and miss you bunches!

Connor

p.s.
I like mommy and daddy's gifts too, I played with them all the way to Denver! :)

Let it snow Let it snow Let it Snow!

We just got back from visiting our dearest friends Mike and Nicole in Denver, we had an absolute blast!
Denver is so amazing.... I hate to say it but I could see why someone would choose Denver over Texas (minus the cold weather!)
Connor had a great time on the airplane,
We really had a great time hanging out with our friends, it was very hard to come back home!
This was Connor's first time to see snow, he absolutely LOVED it! We took him sledding, which went very badly the first time but went great the second time! The first day that we went he hated it, he kept asking to go to "my hooommeeee" So we ended up cutting that trip a bit short! I will say though, Veil is a beautiful ski town! The next day we went to a local park that had a small hill- Connor absolutely loved it! In-fact he went down alone- when he got to the bottom he would tell his dad "more please- Dada take me up high" I think that he would have sled all day had we let him!
While we were there we also had numerous snow ball fights, built a sad looking snowman, attempted to make snow angels, and hung out with our best friends!

Nicole was quite the host, she made us breakfast every morning, lunch, and dinner! She and Mike also built a nice hot fire in the back yard and we made the gooiest, chocolaty, smores, they were delicious!
So thank you mike and Nicole for letting stay at your beautiful home we already miss the two of you very very much!

Happy New Year!!!!!

2010..... really? Where did 2009 go? Am I the only one who felt like this last year flew by?

This year Jared and i set a new years resolution that we feel that we can stick to.... no more of the zany eat healthy ALL YEAR LONG resolutions, you know the ones you break on the first day of the new year!

This year we decided to make 2010 the year of organization, fun huh! Yea well it may not sound like fun but once we get there we will have more time to have fun!!!!! So far we have two pages of a "to do" list, every time we knock something off the list we add something on! I will say that it is nice getting things done around here, getting all of those annoying little things done- the ones that you NEVER EVER want to do!

We started the new year of good, we went to Jared's friends house in Corpus, Connor loves going there- not only because he likes hanging out with Jared's friend but because he has TWO DOGS!!!! I swear if there is a boy out there that needs a dog- my son is the one!
We all hung out grabbed some sea food for lunch went to the beach and ran around and then had some yummy italian for dinner- see what I mean about breaking diets on the first day (really who ever keeps true to that!)

Anyway, we hope that everyone enjoyed bringing in the new year and we hope that if you made a resolution that you too can stick to it!

Happy New years -
Love the O'Brien Family!

Wow Santa is cool!

This was Connor's first Christmas where he understood that something was going on and that he could open his gifts.

Before Santa came we put out a letter from Connor, cookies, and milk... we explained that if Connor wanted Santa to come then little boys had to go to bed!

The next morning when Connor woke up Santa had passed, Connor must have been really good this year because Santa left some really neat things for him!

Connor woke up and went to the living-room with his dad.... it is there that he found a train table waiting for him!

Conor was so excited, so excited that everyone all weekend had to play "Tombus" with him! He also got an easel from Santa, Santa wrote a note that said "merry Christmas Connor, thank you for the cookies! HoHoHo -Santa"

We all had a great Christmas and enjoyed hanging out at my mom's house with family, the only thing that could have made it better is if Jared's family would have been there!

Here are a few Christmas pictures!

I know I'm posting this late but I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday to the best husband ever!

Yesterday was my husbands birthday!
We had the luxury of having my parents watch Connor for the evening so that Jared and I could enjoy a nice dinner!
We went to a local favorite Josephine's it was delicious! Then we headed out and got some desert, cheese, and wine.... It was a very relaxing evening!

Jared-
I hope that you had a wonderful birthday! I just want you to know that you are the best husband in the entire world, you have exceeded any expectation that I ever had for you (which is saying a lot considering that my expectations were very high!) It's amazing that I can have my best friend also be my husband! I never imagined that I would find someone that would click with my soul the way that you do. I know that what we have is genuine and it's something that will last forever!
I also want to thank you for being such an amazing father, I have never seen a man love his child the way that you love ours. I love to see the excitement in your face when you get home EVERY afternoon, the way that you rush to the door to scoop up our son into a loving hug and kiss. I love watching you run around the house pretending to be the tickle monster who steals kisses! I know that Connor loves playing with you every afternoon and snuggling/kicking you in the ribs every morning. I can promise you that the love/bond that you have created with your son is one that will last forever.
I want you to know that this family wouldn't and couldn't be the same with out you in it. I know that we are truly blessed to have you in our lives. I love who you are and who you want to be- I will always support you and stand by you - no matter how zany the idea is!
I hope that you had a wonderful birthday- I hope that everyday is just as special as yesterday!
Love always-
your wife,
Jami

Connor and Puppy meet Santa!

Connor met the big man in the red suit today! We waited in line for 30 minutes just to be stopped two people away from Santa- he had to go and feed his reindeer! So, we sat in line for about an hour in half to see the big jolly man! But Connor had a great time running around playing with the other kids and I had fun taking pictures of him in front of the santa set -up!
When he finally got to see Santa he was very excited- more so for Doggy to see santa than for him to see him! Once in Santa's lap Santa asked him if he wanted a train for Christmas- Connor's response was an enthusiastic "Yeeeeeaaaaa" It was pretty darn cute, even Santa and his elves laughed at that one! I couldn't get a true smile out of him with the camera on but I got some cute pictures anyway! Enjoy~

Oh and a very merry Christmas to all of our Family and friends, we wish that we could celebrate it with everyone!
