These are my super comfy shoes!! I'm hoping that at mile 12 they magically carry me over the finish line ;)

I have decided to run a half marathon. I began my training 2 weeks ago. I am not a runner- nor have I ever been. This is all new to me, the aching in the legs, stinging of the lungs, salty feeling of the sweat, feeling beat up the next day- Yup all new! The surprising part is, I'm lovin' it! Jared and I ran this weekend together and all though my pace is slooooow he ran right next to me! We ran at Barton Creek, trail runs are really nice :) So my training is underway and I plan on blogging once in a while and letting you all know how it's going.

There is a doctor in the house...

Connor has recently discovered that he wants to be a DOCTOR. He tells us "I'll fix you, what hurts?" Then he takes his tool box and fixes people, he bangs on knees with hammers, fixes toes with a monkey wrench, and uses a screw driver to fix your arm. Then when he's all done he tells you, "that will be five dollars!" I'm not sure where this child comes up with such hilarious stuff, but he definitely keeping us laughing!
We went to a garage sale today and found the Parents brand Doctor's box, filled with everything a doctor needs- it was in great condition and cost us only $1. We couldn't have found this at a better time! We have been playing doctor for the past two hours! :) Now if only this desire to be a doctor could last until college!

Surfs Up

We went to the beach a couple of weeks ago to celebrate Jared's brother's graduation. While we were there Connor got the opportunity to catch some waves with his uncle Tay. Jared, Tay, and Conor went out about knee deep and sat Connor on the surf board- when a wave would roll in Connor would ride it to the shore! He absolutely LOVED it! In-fact he is still asking to go to the beach and surf! While at the beach Connor also got the chance to play in the water and in the sand with his dad- I'm not sure who enjoyed it more! :) Connor seems to really enjoy the beach, we will definitely have to make a trip back real soon!

Here fishy....

Connor went fishing with his Papa and Yha-Yha a couple of weeks ago for the very first time! He did really well he caught 4 REALLY REALLY BIG fish- they must have been about 8 ft long! ;) He had a really good time- and when he told me about it he said "I caught tree fishyyys mommy, tree :)" He was very proud of his self and told me that he had a "fun time with the fishyyys they feel funny"
So thank you Yha-Yha and Papa, he looks forward to going again! :)

Connor gets a BIG BOY BED!!!!

After many nights of banging up against the wall and telling us that his bed was "too little", we decided that it was finally time to upgrade from our cute little boy bed to our BIG BOY BED! So we took Connor shopping and "let" him pick out his BIG BOY bed! We mad a full day out of the experience, when we woke up we told him that he was going to get a BIG BOY bed and that today was a very special day! I made him BIG BOY pancakes and we ate at the table with a BIG BOY plate and a BIG BOY fork and drank out of a BIG BOY cup! We then drove to Austin for the day ate lunch with Yha-Yha and PaPa and went shopping at IKEA. After an all day shopping trip for a BIG BOY bed and BIG BOY bedding we went home and daddy set up Connor's new BIG BOY bed! Jared did a great job, he kicked Connor and I out of the room so that he could surprise Connor with his new BIG BOY room! Jared rearranged furniture, put the bed together, put bedding on the bed, and cleaned Connor's room. Connor was shocked when he entered his new BIG BOY room! The BIG BOY bed was really exciting for him- but it still couldn't quite compete with the floor under the train table on the first night! Since his first night with the BIG BOY bed he has slept cozy in his... what he calls his "Fancy Fancy Bed" :)

Connor goes to the kiddie park...

Just recently we took Connor to the kiddie park, he loved it! The rides were all very age appropriate, not too scary - but still fun! He really had a great time, he rode the boats at least 5 times, rode the airplane about 4 times, and rode all of the others at least 3 times each. He had such a great time that we went back later that afternoon with daddy! When it was time to go home Connor was very upset- so much so that he threw himself on the ground begging to stay! Now every time that we pass by Connor squeals with delight and begs to go to the kiddie park!
