What a great day!

Today we had a fun day! After Connor's first haircut we went driving around LA. We visited The Myrtles Plantaion, we didn't actualy tour the inside-just the outside, but it was beautiful! Next time we want to have dinner there and stay the night!










Later we drove out to the River and stretched our legs on the shore, while enjoying the beautiful scenery!










We then drove out to downtown and took a look at the ships and the fountains! Connor had a great time just hanging out with his Pop and Gigi and had a great time playing with his dad!
I know that Connor has really enjoyed spending time with his Pop and Gigi and I know that he will really miss them, they I'm sure will miss him too!

Connor's Very first Haircut!

Today was a very special day for Connor, today he got his very first haircut! We decided that Connor needed to have his haircut, his hair was in his eyes and would become sweety and messy throughout the day! We decided that since we were in LA with Pop and Gigi that we would get it done here so that they could enjoy a "big moment" in Connor's life. We went to this adorable little kids hair salon, he sat in a fire truck as he got his baby hair cut off. He did fantastic, he sat quietly, he hardly ever moved, and he enjoyed the experince! The lady that cut his hair did a fantastic job, she was very patient, great with little kids, and very quick! The lady said that Connor did fantastic and that he was a very cute little boy, I must say that I agree! At the end Connor got to pick a toy out of the toy chest for being such a great "sport"! At first Jared was very upset that I had talked him into cutting off Connor's adorable little curls, but in the end he admitted that Connor looks cuter than ever! He looks so different... so little boyish! He is very proud of his new haircut, infact if you ask him "Connor did you get your haircut today?" he will look at you smile rub his head and say "YES!" Our fun time with Pop and Gigi

Our time at Pop and Gigi's is coming to an end. Sadly we head back soon and it's back to the real world! Connor will miss his Pop and Gigi dearly and we know that they will miss him as well! Our last few days were filled with lots of fun! We spent most of Wednesday splashing in the pool with Gigi, Connor had a blast jumping in and splashing everyone! (He is so brave in the pool now!)



Jared came in on Thursday night, we spent all of Friday reminiscing his childhood days! We went and visited Mike the Tiger at LSU, drove around to all of his childhood homes, schools, and other fond memorable places.





Connor and I went with Gigi to New Orleans on Thursday and we went to visit the aquarium. The New Orleans aquarium is amazing, there were so many cool exhibits to see, there were penguins, alligators, sting rays, sharks, turtles, and tons of fish! Connor really had a great time looking at the fish, saying hello to the fish, and petting the sting rays & shark! (He mostly enjoyed playing in the kid play area!)










So far we have had a very good time with Pop and Gigi! :)

Connor had his very first plane ride! He did fantastic, he loved the clouds and the "uh ohs" (the turbulance)
So far we have splashed in rain puddles, shopped, and played ... played... and played! :) This morning we even decorated pop and Gigi's house, Connor thought that they needed new window treatments! This little boy gets away with everything!Pop & Gi-gi can't get enough!

Today Jared and I took Connor to Lake Shore Learning, they were doing an arts and crafts center so we let Connor join the other kids in creating a sail boat! He is so proud of his boat, he holds it gently, plays with it, and smiles as he says "Connor" when asked who made it! We put it in the kitchen sink and let him see that it floats in the water!

A great way to end a really bad day...

I honestly think that I have the best husband that has ever existed!
Let me explain...
Today was an awful day, full of tribulations like you wouldn't believe. My day began with waking up at 5:45 this morning and unable to fall back into my cozy slumber. I ripped myself out of bed and got ready for a big presentation at school. When I woke Connor up for the morning to my surprise he had wet through his diaper-bath time! (at 6:00 am in a rush!) I got both of us off to school, in a hurry to print some last minute paper work to only find that the lab didn't open for another 15 min. (so much for rushing!) Once I finally got into the lab to print my papers, the printer FROZE! It took over 30 min to print my papers! (off to class with 2 min to spare!) My part of the presentation went off pretty good, unfortunately for me it was a group project (you know the ones where one persons does all the work and everyone else reaps the benefits! (lucky for me only one person slacked, but they slacked really bad))Once my presentation was over I headed off to Costco (I'm now part of the Costco community!) I felt a bit overwhelmed shopping there, so many things-in bulk!
I know what your thinking, Jami this wouldn't describe an awful day....
just wait my friends....
So there I am jamming out to the radio on my way home.... and uh oh I miss my exit... not that big of deal right? So I think I'll just go down one and turn around, as I think this my car begins to sputter... sputtttter, sp ut tt tt ee rrrrr... and thats it! There I am pulled over on the side of the highway, flashers on, cars zooming by. I forgot to mention to you, the exit that I missed... yea it was the one for the gas station! (this is the first time that I have run out of gas since I was 19!) So I think, don't panic- call Jared. I stand on the side of the highway, trucks zooming by, dirty men cat calling, horns honking, and the heat sucking every bit of energy that I have right out of me. My hero of a husband leaves work, goes home, gets the gas bucket, brings me gas, and alas.... my car still doesn't start!
So here we are on the side of the highway, a cop blocking traffic behind us, and my car battery is DEAD! After trial and tribulations we finally get my car into neutral, the cop has to push my car (with his car) so that we can coast down the highway. We finally get into a parking lot and Jared is escorted back to his truck, in the backseat of the cop car.

You would think that a husband would get upset that he had to leave work early to bring his "dingy" wife gas (when she's right by a gas station) or having to jump start his wife's car in the 102 dg. heat. But no... instead he tells me that he doesn't need to preach, he is sure that I had learned my lesson. Now that isn't what makes him the best husband....
What makes him the best is this...







When I got home he had a single Yellow Rose awaiting me, he said it was because he knew that I had had a bad day and he thought that it might cheer me up!
Now tell me, would you argue with the statement that I have the best husband ever?
