What a great way to celebrate!
My husband and I just celebrated our four year anniversary! We decided that instead of celebrating at a restaurant like we usually do, we would do something different! We decided to have dinner under the stars, romantic huh? Well it wasn't just dinner under the stars but it was dinner under the stars on the highest peak of Texas! We hiked Guadalupe Peak, the tallest peak in Texas, an elevation of 8,751 feet, It rises more than 3,000 feet from the ground! We hiked 4.2 miles one way, and them set up camp! We camped out at the top of the peak (1 mile from the top) and cooked dinner. The next morning we had pancakes, bacon, and fresh coffee! The view from the top of the peak was out of this world amazing! I can honestly say it was one of the prettiest views I've ever seen in person and by far one of the most romantic fun things Jared and I have ever done! Take a look at these pictures, they seriously do it no justice what so ever! Jared and I are already planning our next summit....

Choo-Choo
Connor has become a big fan of Thomas the tank engine! So Jared, my mom, and I decided to take him for a ride on the choo-choo train! He absolutely loved it! We were impressed with how still/excited he was the entire ride! He sat quietly in his seat pointing out ducks and trees, he waved and smiled at people as we passed by, and would say an occasional Choo-Choo. When it was time to leave he was very disappointed and made sure to let us know! Jared had to practically drag him away as little tears fell down his cheeks, "choo chooooo my dada" he cried as we left the station.
Here are some pictures of him on his first choo-choo ride!

Fire truck time!
Connor got very creative the other day! We were playing in his room when he put on his fire hat, drug his chair over to his tent saying "help my mommy help" so I put the chair inside the tent. My little cutie pie sat in his chair and said "phhhhh phhhh" (or however you spell out the sound for the sound of a moving car!) I was very impressed! The fun didn't stop there! He went on to bring his dad his other fire hat, made him put it on, and insisted that he play "fire truck" with him, he told his daddy "sit". Here are a couple of snap shots I got of the priceless moment!

Isn't the one of him and his dad just adorable!

Swim Lessons!
Connor had his first swim lesson this afternoon! I enrolled him in a mommy and me class, he goes once a week for 30 min. Jared was able to make it to his first lesson and document the "fun" on video and through pictures, I think Connor enjoyed him being there... ever so often he would look up at Jared and smile! The class was really cute! They began by singing a welcoming song to the kids in the class and then began the lesson. Through out the lesson they sang different songs that had some kind of relation to what the lesson was. For example during the kicking lessons they sang:
"Motor Boat Motor Boat go so slow, Motor Boat Motor boat go so fast, Motor Boat Motor Boat step on the gas!"
They also had toys for them to play with and balls for them to chase after and of course Connor's favorite.... the slide! The had the kids practice getting out of the pool on their own by pulling up on the side and climbing out! The kids also had a lesson in holding their breath underwater, surprisingly Connor did really well at this part! All in all he really enjoyed the class until the very end when he had to float on his back, apparently this is the most difficult part for every new swimmer! I think that he will enjoy the next lesson a bit more because he will have a better understanding of what is expected!
Here are some pictures of his first lesson.... some are a bit blurry because Jared had to take them from behind the glass wall!
Happy Fourth of July!
We hope that everyone had a very happy fourth of July! Connor had a blast, he got a new pool at his Yha-Yha's house! He really enjoyed sliding down the slide and saying "weeeeee" as he would slide down into the water! We had a great time at my parents house! We had some good BBQ, did some corn shucking, and ate until we were full! Connor also had a great time with the fireworks, every-time that he would hear them he would clap his hands together and say "pop pop" it was really cute! Reba brought him a plush squishy ball (the kind that you squeeze and has pokey little stings all over it) he got this and a pinwheel in lieu of fireworks this year! All in all we had a very relaxing 4th and hope that you and your family did as well!

OUCH!
THis morning my poor little boy took a hard fall, face first, from our bed. Anyone that has a child knows the fear that rushed through me. Unfortunately for Connor his face took all the impact, the result- bloody nose, big bump between the eyes, a swollen cheek, and a swollen bottom lip. He is just fine now, actually within three minutes of the fall he was fine.... he is up and about running around like nothing ever happened! This was the first time that Connor has ever fallen on "my clock" I guess it was bound to happen at some point.
A little ice, some hugs and kisses, and lots of love is all a little boy needed to feel better! :)

A day at the river
Just incase the slide show doesn't load....
We spent the day as a family... drinking up the sun, cooling off in the water, and having fun! Today was a perfect day, Connor really enjoyed playing in the water. Jared and I were surprised to see how brave he was, he went pretty deep! All in all today was a wonderful day... here are some great moments captured on camera!
Enjoy~
